Athena 1800 GIF Customization Guide: For custom GIFs, you can convert your image or animation into the .uf2 format on this web: GIF to UF2 for Athena1800
It only supports 128x128 pixel GIFs.
For GIFs used for "Typing" and "CapsLock" (presumably referring to keyboard indicators), the frame count should be less than 31 frames.
For other GIFs, the frame count should be less than 63 frames.

Athena 1800 firmware update (Aug 22, 2025)

Upgraded to dual-core firmware for better performance, including improved button response speed and higher GIF frame rates.
Added Key Debounce settings. If buttons register multiple presses, try setting Key Debounce to "normal" or "slow" in the Layout settings.
Added a screen on/off switch. Left and right Shift+O
Fixed an issue where the screen sometimes didn't light up properly when the computer was turned on.
The keyboard now remembers the last used GIF after switching, making it load directly the next time the keyboard is powered on
